Laurent Ferrier creates unique piece for Art In Time

Classic Traveller created with Art in Time to raise money for the Monaco Red Cross

Laurent Ferrier has unveiled a unique version of its Classic Traveller watch in collaboration with Monaco’s Art in Time.

Art in Time was founded by Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, Co-President of Chopard and boss of Ferdinand Berthoud.

It is a gallery that was conceived as a nothing-quite-like-it place for select brands to show off independent watchmaking.

Several unique pieces have been made for Art in Time since 2020, by the likes of Urwerk and Ressence.

Part of the proceeds from the sale of the Laurent Ferrier watch will go to the Monaco Red Cross, giving aid for humanitarian various initiatives.

The dial has a partial world map viewed from the north and is made entirely from hand-worked grand feu enamel, a technique that the brand excels at.

As a Classic Traveller, it has a central hour hand that indicates the local time.

As you travel around the world, the hour hand can be adjusted forward and backward in hourly jumps using the pushers at 8 and 10 o’clock.

The window at 9 o’clock shows home time, so it is set via the crown and then left untouched.

The date window at 3 o’clock displays the day of the month in the normal fashion, and is set to change in step with local time.

It has a 41mm white gold case and comes on a blue calfskin strap lined with Alcantara.

It is powered by Laurent Ferrier’s LF 230.02 automatic movement with 18k gold micro-rotor.
