Glashütte Original has marked a major milestone in its 180th anniversary year with the opening of a new dial manufactory in Glashütte – the only one of its kind in the town. To celebrate the occasion, the brand has launched a striking first look at the fruits of its labor: the PanoLunarTourbillon, available in just 50 pieces worldwide.
The new model is an rework of the original PanoLunarTourbillon, where we’ve previously seen the model in gold, it now appears in platinum.
Housed in a 40mm case with polished and brushed finishes, this new watch showcases a rose-colored dial inspired by the iron-rich earth of Glashütte. This shimmering “iron ore” hue is achieved through a complex galvanisation process, reflecting both the landscape and the watchmaker’s heritage.
Like all models in the Pano line, the asymmetric dial layout follows the Golden Ratio, lending the watch a unique and harmonious aesthetic. It features fine graining, except to the hours sub-dial which features a concentric guilloché finish.
Signature Glashütte complications include a flying tourbillon, a panoramic date displayed across two concentric discs, and a moon phase display with miniature silver stars on a deep blue sky. These are complemented by blued steel hands and hour markers coated in Super-LumiNova®.
Inside beats the Caliber 93-03, a finely finished automatic movement with a 60-hour power reserve and silicon balance spring for magnetic resistance.
The see-through sapphire caseback reveals exceptional finishing, including Glashütte stripes, perlage, and a skeletonized rotor.
The watch is paired with either a blue Louisiana alligator leather or a fabric strap, each with a platinum folding clasp.
