Franck Muller gets blue in the face with Smurfette hook-up

Franck Muller Vanguard Smurfette special of 100 pieces in tongue-in-cheek collaboration with Netflix Smurfs movie

The iconic Cintrée Curvex case and sapphire dome of modern horological tyro, Franck Muller extends his notorious sense of humour with a wholly unexpected limited edition in tribute to the Smurfs – more specifically Smurfette, voiced by Rihanna in the historic cartoon franchise’s latest instalment on silver screens this summer.

The Vanguard Smurfette limited edition celebrates the beloved blue icons of pop culture, created in 1958 by Belgian artist Pierre Culliford, known as Peyo. The cheerful blue characters live in a village of mushroom-shaped houses hidden deep in a magical forest – not entirely unlike the myth of the Jura mountains’ historic Swiss watchmaking.

The Vanguard Smurfette collection comes to life in three distinct interpretations, each
capturing a unique facet of Smurfette’s charm and the joyful world of The Smurfs through Franck Muller’s craftsmanship. The man’s Eighties tutelage at the hands of Svend Andersen in restoring Patek Philippe’s archive for its museum clearly did nothing to remove tongue from cheek.

The Vanguard Smurfette in pink version radiates with a lively floral motif surrounding Smurfette herself, set against a playful dial with pink numerals. Paired with a vivid pink strap, this edition is pure playful elegance and celebrates Smurfette’s blossoming personality in the film itself.

Papa Smurf, voiced by John Goodman, will clearly be eyeing this up as an early Christmas present for Flowerbell…

Limited to just 100 pieces worldwide, the Vanguard Smurfette will be available at Franck Muller boutiques and online at www.watchespedia.com; deliveries starting September 25, 2025 and priced at CHF 9,800 in steel and CHF 20,800 with diamonds, excluding taxes; deliveries starting September 25th
