Festina keeps quartz coming in latest collection of Chrono Bike chronographs

45.5mm chronographs are selling for between $200 and $300.

Sales of inexpensive quartz-based watches have been more consistent since a slump in the second half of the 2010s, with the likes of Seiko, Citizen, Timex and Fossil Group continuing to find a market for reliable and accurate timekeepers.

Spain’s Festina is another manufacturer that maintains a core collection of quartz watches even as it experiments with automatic movements in its Swiss-made timekeepers and smartwatch tech in a range of hybrids.

Festina’s first major launch of 2025 is a fresh collection of its Chrono Bike chronographs, which have been appearing as cycling-inspired timers since first being introduced in 1997.

Chronographs for cyclists need to display a lot of information at a glance, which may explain Festina sticking with an oversized 45.5mm stainless steel case for the new collection.

Priced between $200 and $300 for the core collection, the family of watches comes in a choice of 25 styles including different dial and 60-minute bezel colors and a range of fastenings including steel bracelets and bright rubber straps.

They are water resistant to 660 feet thanks to screw down crowns.
