Edox signs with BMW Superbike team

New generation Chronorally launched as brand celebrates BMW motorcycle partnership.

Edox has launched its next generation Chronorally as it celebrates a new partnership with BMW’s motorcycle divisions.

The Swiss watch brand has a long history of involvement with four-wheeled motorsport, notably at top drawer events like the Dakar Rally and the World Rally Championship.

Now Edox has moved onto two wheels with a new role as timing partner for BMW’s team in the Superbike World Championship.

The BMW team is currently leading the motorbike racing championship, sometimes stylized as WorldSBK.

Edox has also been made timing partner of BMW Motorrad, the German manufacturer’s motorcycle division.

The new watch is an evolution of Edox’s Chronorally with its signature oversized chronograph pushers.

The Chronorally 45 has a redesigned 45mm titanium case diameter and revamped dial design.

It is powered by a Ronda-based quartz chronograph movement with 1/10th second timing.

Superluminova covered hands and indices give enhanced visibility in low light and the watch is water-resistant to 100m.

In keeping with the motorsport theme, the rubber strap comes complete with tyre prints.

“The decision to expand from cars to motorcycles underscores Edox’s commitment to embracing new challenges and pushing boundaries,” said Alexandre Strambini, CEO of Edox. “Motorcycle racing demands the same precision and performance as its four-wheeled counterpart, making the Chronorally 45 the ideal companion for both professional riders and enthusiasts.”

Edox was founded in 1884 when Christian Ruefli-Flury made a pocket watch for his wife and she then convinced him that he should set up his own company.

The family run Swiss firm has been in continuous operation ever since.

The Chronorally 45 is available in a number of colour combinations €1,590
