Dior has introduced a new look to its classic La D My Dior watch collection.
The collection was first launched in 2003, the first to be the work of famed creative director Victoire de Castellane.
The watch has featured a whole range of different styles over the years, from multi-coloured gemstones to more demure monochromatic looks.
It is characterised by the geometric patterns called cannage – used by Dior since the late 1940s, when it first appeared on the upholstery of Napoleon III chairs in the House of Dior in Paris.
The pattern is a signature for Dior, appearing on lots of different pieces, notably the La Dior handbag, which had a famous devotee in the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
The La D My Dior carries the pattern through from the dial to the bracelet, earning it the sobriquet the “ribbon that tells the time”.
The new pieces come in case sizes of 19mm (La Mini D My Dior) and 25mm with diamond bezels.
They have pink or white mother-of-pearl dials, some with gold details.
Prices range from $5,400 to $10,900 at www.dior.com
