Richemont boss chooses Jaeger-LeCoultre CEO for his former role

Watch and luxury giant Richemont has appointed Catherine Rénier as CEO of Van Cleef & Arpels.

Rénier is currently CEO of Richemont stablemate Jaeger-LeCoultre.

She is taking over at Van Cleef from Nicolas Bos, following his recent appointment as CEO of the Richemont group.

Rénier will begin the role on 1st September and will report to Vos.

The Richemont veteran already has lengthy experience working for watch and jewellery flagship Van Cleef.

She started her Richemont career in 1999 for Cartier in New York, before moving back to her native France and starting to work for the marketing department at Van Cleef in Paris in 2003.

She worked up through various roles at Van Cleef, including senior positions in Asia, before being appointed CEO of Jaeger-LeCoultre in 2018.

Nicolas Bos said: “I am delighted that Catherine will be taking on the role of CEO of Van Cleef & Arpels, after six years at the helm of Jaeger-LeCoultre where she built a strong leadership team and a clear and differentiated positioning for the maison, which has been foundational to its success during her tenure.

“Catherine brings the perfect mix of experience and leadership skills to the role, which, coupled with her deep knowledge of the Maison, will enable her to ensure Van Cleef & Arpels’ long-term success.”

The role of interim CEO for Jaeger-LeCoultre will be taken on by Philippe Hermann, the Chief Financial Officer, until a new CEO is announced.

Richemont’s other watch brands include A. Lange & Söhne, IWC and Panerai. The Swiss group also has on its books the online retailers Watchfinder, Net-A-Porter and Mr Porter.
