Casio names Masaki Obu to lead US Timepiece Division

Veteran executive with 16 years of global Casio experience to drive innovation, G-Shock storytelling, and deeper community engagement in the American market

Casio America, Inc. has announced the appointment of Masaki Obu as general manager of its Timepiece Division, marking a new era for the company’s legacy brands, including G-Shock.

Based in Dover, New Jersey, Obu brings over 16 years of global leadership experience across Japan, the Middle East Africa, Asia and Oceania.

In his new role, Obu will oversee marketing, strategy, operation, and financial performance for Casio’s US Timepiece Division. He will be tasked with driving innovation, community engagement and strengthening Casio’s presence in the highly competitive American watch market.

A passionate watch enthusiast who collected Casio and G-Shock watches long before joining the company, Obu combines strategic vision with deep product knowledge. He plans to highlight the full spectrum of the G-Shock story while accelerating omnichannel growth and expanding community collaborations with artists, athletes and tastemakers.
