You don’t get luckier than a horseshoe – perhaps that’s the pre-British Watchmakers’ Day thinking behind Brooklands’ new limited-edition model, the Golden Miller.
Honoring the legendary racehorse Golden Miller, the only horse to win both the Cheltenham Gold Cup and Grand National in the same year, the one-of-100 model will get its first run at Cheltenham Festival on 11 March.
This 41mm stainless steel chronograph not only showcases Swiss-made excellence but also carries a unique historical touch – its buckle is crafted from a blend of sterling silver and aluminum alloy from an original horseshoe worn by the champion steeplechaser in 1934.
This bi-compax chronograph, powered by the Sellita SW500 BV b caliber, features a 62-hour power reserve, ensuring precision timing for collectors as well as those keeping a keen eye on the betting scorecards.
An Opaline Heritage White dial, protected by sapphire glass, is a tribute to classic racing aesthetics, while the bespoke rotor enhances mechanical refinement.
Water-resistant to 100m (10ATM), the watch is paired with a tan calf leather sculpted strap.
A tribute to Golden Miller’s heritage, the caseback is adorned with 14 blue and yellow sapphires, representing the racing colors of Dorothy Paget, the horse’s singular owner. Paget was also a notable sponsor of motorsport legend Tim Birkin, the driver of the record-setting Birkin Blower No.1 at Brooklands in 1932.
Each timepiece is presented in a specially crafted box alongside a numbered badge inspired by the 1934 Cheltenham Steeplechase Club Badge; a limited-edition Golden Miller illustration by Cheltenham artist Emily Johnson, designed in the style of a 1930s cigarette card; and an exclusive invitation from The Jockey Club to the Cheltenham Gold Cup 2026.
Limited to 100 pieces, the Golden Miller Racing Chronograph is priced at £6,800 and will be available exclusively on Brooklands’ website from 9am GMT on 11 March 2025.
Racegoers can view the timepiece at the Brooklands Watch Company exhibit in The Orchard at Cheltenham Festival, alongside Aston Martin, Boodles, Glenfarclas, and Nyetimber.
