The House of Bovet has introduced a new watch that breaks tradition for the brand.
The Récital 12 comes on a metal bracelet, unlike the rest of the catalogue that favours alligator and calf leather.
The 200 year-old company did not want to rush the project and the Récital 12 was in development for years.
“We have had many collectors from all over the world asking for a metal bracelet,” said Bovet owner Pascal Raffy.
“I’m very detail oriented when it comes to comfort and design,” he added. “So I knew if we did a bracelet, it would have to be as close to perfect as possible. My team and I worked on this timepiece for two full years, going through version after version to get it absolutely right.
“The bracelet is supremely comfortable, forming to the wrist and offering all-day wearability,” he added. “I think its unique combination of style, comfort, lightness, and serious watchmaking will appear to collectors everywhere.”
The bracelet features the Bovet ‘V’ and also has an expansion mechanism, allowing for up to 3mm of adjustability to “accommodate minor fluctuations in wrist size”.
The bracelet and 40mm case are made from grade 5 titanium.
The use of titanium for the case is also a first for Bovet, which uses mostly gold, stainless steel and platinum.
The watch also features a redesigned manually wound movement with a seven day power reserve from a single barrel.
