AWAKE has unveiled the Jurassic Watch, the debut timepiece in its new “A Tribute to the Seventh Art” series – a métiers d’art project celebrating cult films through fine craftsmanship.
This exclusive release is inspired by ‘Jurassic Park’ (1993), the iconic blockbuster by Steven Spielberg, with two limited models, the T-REX and RAPTORS, each restricted to just 50 pieces.
Both watches feature handcrafted lacquer dials inspired by the eyes of their prehistoric namesakes. The T-REX boasts a fiery orange gradient dial with dual claw mark appliques, paired with iridescent orange marine leather.
Elsewhere, the RAPTORS features layered greens, three claw marks, and matching scaled salmon leather, evoking the Velociraptor’s reptilian gaze.
Using traditional Vietnamese Sơn Mài techniques, each dial combines silver leaf, natural pigments, and translucent lacquer for striking depth and reflections.
These are enhanced by AWAKE’s BGW9 Super-LumiNova lume system, offering dynamic light play in low-light environments.
Housed in a 39mm recycled 316L steel case, each watch is powered by the Swiss-made La Joux-Perret G101 automatic movement with a 68-hour power reserve.
The screw-down caseback features a sapphire window, jungle-themed engravings, and iconic quotes from the film: “Spared no expense” and “Life finds a way.”
A hidden “Golden Ticket” in one of the 100 boxes contains an authentic Carcharodontosaurus tooth – easy for us to say.
