Bvlgari kicked off the celebrations for the Year of the Snake in Shanghai through a unique art exhibition inspired by the iconic Serpenti Infinito motif.
The exhibition was held on 8 January, a symbolic date, as the number itself evokes the symbol of infinity, highlighting the infinite transformations of the powerful snake.
Hosted by Bvlgari’s CEO Jean-Christophe Babin, the opening cocktail party took place in the Zhangyuan district.
Attending were international media, artists, friends and ambassadors of the brand, who enjoyed a private tour of the exhibition and were entertained by a live band.
The exhibition showcased 28 artworks by 19 Chinese and international artists, of which 11 were created exclusively for the occasion.
Transcending different cultures, space and time, since 1948, the Serpenti icon has encapsulated many meanings and attributions, just like that of its animal of inspiration.
Like a journey to explore the snake’s identity, the exhibition unfolded into the three chapters; Crafting Serpents in History, Snakes in the Arts and Contemporary Transformations.
In each ‘chapter’, guests could admire a selection of stunning pieces from the maison’s Bvlgari Heritage, watches and fine jewelry collections.
During this unique exhibition, Bvlgari artisans hosted an interactive workshop to demonstrate the Maison’s exceptional craftsmanship.
Guests could also explore the Serpenti postcard experience, featuring 20 artworks – half created by elite art school students and half by talented children with autism – highlighting the fusion of art and humanity.
Continuing the celebration, each property in the Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts collection will introduce a dedicated Serpenti Suite, offering a full immersion into the sign’s magnetic allure with curated interior design details.
