Music mogul Pharrell Williams has long been known to have a big thing for Richard Mille watches.
The musician and record producer is often pictured wearing some of the most exclusive pieces from a brand where everything is at the rarefied end of the scale.
The artist is widely referred to as Pharrell, as his level of fame affords him a Madonna-style mononym.
As well as a habit for hits and fine watches, Pharrell is a businessman who likes to name companies after miss-spelt versions of his outer-space inspirations.
First there was his record label, Star Trak Entertainment. Now there is his fancy auction platform, called Joopiter.
He is offering a Pharrell-signed Richard Mille for sale on the auction site.
It is an out-of-production RM 65-01 Automatic Split-Seconds Chronograph.
The red-gold and Carbon TPT watch bears Pharrell’s signature on the sapphire caseback.
Bidding is open until 13th December, with the starting bid set at $320,000.
The winning bidder, as well as getting the one-off watch, will be invited to attend one of Richard Mille’s glamorous events, like the Chantilly car and general fabulousness show near Paris.
Proceeds from the sale of the watch will be donated by Richard Mille to Black Ambition, a charity started by Pharrell to use entrepreneurship to help “close the opportunity and wealth gap”.
