Hanhart brings winged logo out of retirement for 1960s chronograph revival

Hanhart combines the timeless design of the original with modern material and technologies

With vintage styling riding a wave of popularity right now, any brand with an archive stretching back 50 years or more is dusting off historical designs and giving them a modern makeover.

Swiss-German business Hanhart, founded in 1882, has a rich back catalogue and is drawing attention to its past through a new 415 ES chronograph, a watch that was first made in the mid-1960s.

The brand has even brought back the “winged” logo, which it used at the time and dropped 40 years ago, on a black-dialled watch with white, red and gold accents.

It comes in a fashionable 39mm size steel case with black ceramic 60-minute bezel.

It is powered by a Sellita SW 510, a hand-wound chronograph movement considered so accurate, its stopwatch function will measure time down to 10ths of seconds.

The new 415 ES is stylishly presented on a leather strap for around $2,680
