First there was the desert, then the glacier, now the jungle.
Zenith has unveiled its third and final Defy Chronograph inspired by demanding parts of the planet.
The new Defy Extreme Jungle, Zenith tells us, draws on the “untamed energy and captivating mystery” of life in the jungle.
It follows earlier Extreme Desert and Glacier limited editions.
The Jungle chronograph has a 45mm brushed titanium case offering 200m of water resistance.
It has a dodecagonal bezel and pusher protectors made from a type of quartz called Tiger’s Eye.
Each watch in the 50-piece limited edition will be unique, thanks to natural variations in the stone.
The open sapphire dial is tinted green and shows the inner workings.
It is powered by the El Primero 9004 automatic movement, with two independent mechanisms.
The timekeeper beats at 5Hz, the chronograph at 50Hz, allowing for 1/100th second stopwatch timing.
The movement, which has a power reserve of 50 hours, has little jungle touches, with a khaki green main plate and a green satin-brushed oscillating weight.
Hands and markers are coated in luminous material for maximum legibility.
The watch comes on a khaki green embossed rubber strap with a titanium folding buckle, and is also supplied with a titanium bracelet and a black Velcro strap.
The Zenith Defy Extreme Jungle costs $26,900.00
