Glashütte Original debuts ‘silver screen’ version of SeaQ Chronograph

Black and white version of chronograph has a reflective silver dial

Glashütte Original’s new black and white chronograph has a dial with a cinematic inspiration.

The new version of the SeaQ Chronograph is the latest addition to the German brand’s Spezialist collection.

This version of the bi-compax chronograph has a black ceramic bezel insert that contrasts with the galvanic silver dial.

The ‘silver screen’ dial, Glashütte Original says, makes use of the same optical effect that cinema screens once used: a thin coat of silver paint.

That dial coating, along with the hands and indexes coated with Superluminova coated, adds to the legibility.

The round, 43.2 mm stainless steel case is water-resistant to a very decent 300m.

The black ceramic insert is scratch-resistant and the bezel rotates unidirectionally.

The SeaQ Chronograph is powered by Glashütte Original’s in-house Calibre 37-23.

The anti-magnetic automatic movement has a silicon balance spring and a power reserve of 70 hours.

Glashütte stripes and other decorative finishes can be seen through the sapphire crystal case back.

The look is completed with a black rubber strap, but the watch is also available on a stainless-steel bracelet or an orange textile strap.

Glashütte Original began life in the Saxon town of Glashütte in 1845.
