Breguet has unveiled a new version of the Type XX Chronograph in gold with a ceramic bezel ring.
The latest watches follow a revamp of the Type XX last year that pay tribute to gold watches from the 1950s called either Type 20 (military version) or Type XX (civilian).
The new watch sees ceramic used for the first time in Breguet collections.
With the addition of this modern touch, the watch has the same asymmetrical chrono layout, with a large 15-minute counter at 3 o’clock, and smaller 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock and running seconds at 9 o’clock.
Released in 2023 after four years of development, the 728 “flyback” movement was entirely designed and built by Breguet.
The 5Hz automatic movement has a high-energy-density mainspring that allows for a 60-hour power reserve.
The 42mm case is made from rose gold, with a gold bezel holding that ceramic insert.
The watch has two interchangeable straps: one in alligator leather; the other fabric.
Each strap has an 18K gold pin buckle and the watch is water-resistant to 100m.
Breguet’s new Type XX Chronograph is Reference 2067RK/Y9/9WU.
