Grey and gold Defy Skyline reserved exclusively for Zenith website and boutiques

1/10th second El Primero chronograph gets slate-grey exclusive edition.

Zenith has 50 doors but no standalone boutiques in the United States, which makes it an odd time to introduce a highly desirable slate grey and gold version of the Defy Skyline Chronograph as a boutique-only release.

The watch will also be available at Zenith’s online store.

Zenith first unveiled the chronograph version of its Defy Skyline at Watches & Wonders Geneva and the El Primero-powered watch now comes in a new colorway as a boutique exclusive.

It is fitted with the latest version of the 1/10th second El Primero chronograph movement, first unveiled by Zenith more than 50 years ago.

The 42mm steel case is a modern take on the earliest Defy’s octagonal case and multi-sided bezel.

The metallic slate grey dial has the signature engraved four-pointed stars in a gold tone, matched to applied hour markers.

The high-frequency calibre vibrates 36,000 times per hour, allowing for accurate timing to 1/10th of a second.

The central chronograph hand performs one rotation every 10 seconds, with markings on the flange used to read the split seconds.

A screw-down crown contributes to 100m water-resistance.

Zenith has been focusing on Asia for its rollout of branded showrooms.

It has 18 boutiques in China and Hong Kong and the new Defy Skyline Chronograph Boutique Edition was presented at the opening of Zenith’s new store at the Tun Razak Exchange in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

It is available at Zenith physical and online boutiques around the world and costs CHF12,900.
