Citizen’s Satellite Wave line blends the brand’s light-powered Eco-Drive tech with GPS, to make a watch that should never run out of power, or tell the wrong time.
Even in times of no satellite reception, it keeps time to plus or minus five seconds a month.
And if life gets so bad that you are without light, it can still run for up to five years, so long as it’s on power saving mode.
Citizen has just presented a pair of sapphire bezeled examples of the Attesa Satellite Wave GPS F950.
They have a 1/20 second chronograph that runs up to 24 hours, a perpetual calendar and a world time function.
The bezel carries world city names for the world time function, and this provides the main visual difference between the two new watches.
One watch has the city names in pink gold, the other in a blueish violet color.
The watches are part of Citizen’s tech-oriented Attesa line.
The F950 movement is the most advanced in the line yet, Citizen says.
The movement can get updates from satellites in as little as three seconds.
The 44.6mm case is water-resistant to 100m.
Both the case and the three-link bracelet are made from a proprietary titanium alloy that is toughened at the surface – the brand says – to make it at least five times harder than steel.
Models CC4059-64L and CC4074-61W will be available in October from citizenwatch.com
