Piaget has produced a Polo Skeleton with a ceramic and titanium case.
This marks the first time that Piaget has used ceramic in a watch case.
The watch took three years to develop and has a case that comprises a titanium container that holds the ceramic case and components.
The titanium container is treated with black DLC to match the dark ceramic components, which includes a two-part case, crown and bezel.
The 42mm case is a slender 7.5mm thick.
It is powered by Piaget’s Manufacture 1200S1 ultra-thin self-winding movement.
The Piaget logo has been added to the movement’s winding rotor – also a first for the brand.
It comes on a black rubber strap that can be changed out for a steel and titanium folding strap, or a blue strap, using Piaget’s SingleTouch interchangeable strap system.
That strap change system was first introduced last year on the Piaget Polo Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin black.
The Piaget Polo debuted in 1979 and has since become an emblem for the brand.
The modern interpretation came out in 2016 and has been a big seller for Piaget.
