Seiko has introduced three new colors in the King Seiko KSK 6R collection.
The watch is a modern reinterpretation of a classic King Seiko from the 1960s.
The watch has a box sapphire crystal and sharp dauphine hands and is powered by Seiko’s in-house 6R51 automatic movement.
The case is a relatively slender 36mm, adding to the vintage vibe.
The three new dial colors – green, blue and burgundy – are all designated as “preppy”.
Preppy, short for “preparatory”, is a classic American Ivy League style that is best on display in brands like Ralph Lauren and Lacoste.
Preppy fashions have their origins in the US prep schools and college campuses of the early 20th century, but the style really came to worldwide prominence in the 1960s.

The King Seiko KSK 6R has a screw-in caseback and is water-resistant to 100m.
The automatic movement is accurate to +25/-15 seconds per day and has a three-day power reserve.
The King Seiko KSK 6R collection costs $1,900, at seikousa.com
