Thomas Sabo joins growing list of volume brands shifting into automatic watches

Fashion jewelry brand Thomas Sabo marks 40th birthday with launch of mechanical watch range.

Thomas Sabo has celebrated its 40th birthday with the release of a new collection of automatic watches.

The German jeweler has been making watches for around 15 years now but has so far mostly sold quartz models.

It has sold watches with automatic movements before, but the new collection adds substantially to the depth of its offering.

The new collection is 12 models in two case sizes: 36 mm and 41 mm.

They are powered by Japanese Miyota automatics with approximately 42 hours of power reserve, visible through a sapphire caseback.

All models have a rotor inscribed: “40th Anniversary 1984 – 2024”.

One model has a white mother-of-pearl dial and white zirconia stones.

Another has a black skeleton dial with indices in a yellow gold color.

The new automatic watches are available in Thomas Sabo stores in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, France and Spain, as well as online in the United States.

The company was founded in 1984 by Thomas Sabo in Lauf an der Pegnitz – just outside Nuremberg, southern Germany – and it sells watches and jewelry in more than 70 countries.

The Thomas Sabo automatic collection starts at £535 thomassabo.com
