Franck Muller has unveiled a limited edition watch paying tribute to Australian mega rock band AC/DC.
It comes in a 43mm Vanguard polished tonneau case housing an automatic movement.
The new watch comes in a choice of metals with a number of details to keep fans of the rock legends happy.
The custom dial has over-sized Franck Muller numerals that are painted in a red tone taken from the first AC/DC lightning bolt back in 1974.
The center of the dial has a pattern that looks like vinyl, celebrating the release of the debut album, the 1975 record High Voltage.
Behind the AC/DC logo are six strings, inspired by the Gibson played by lead guitarist Angus Young.
There is a “50 YEARS” logo, along with an AC/DC lightning bolt on the steel buckle of the black, red-stitched leather strap.
The 43mm case is available in either polished stainless steel or brushed titanium with black PVD treatment.
It comes packaged in an AC/DC flight case that could be mistaken for a piece of the band’s audio equipment.
The famous AC/DC logo with the lightning bolt in the middle – featured on both the front and back of the watch – was first used in its current format on the cover of the 1977 album Let There Be Rock.
AC/DC was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2003, and has been led by the British singer Brian Johnson since 1980.
The 1980 album Back in Black is the second best-selling album of all time, only losing out to Michael Jackson’s Thriller.
Franck Muller was formed in the early 1990s by a Swiss watchmaker of the same name, and the self-styled ‘master of complications’ stamped its reputation with the creation of the world’s first tri-axial in 2004.
The Franck Muller Vanguard AC/DC 50th Anniversary is a numbered series of 50 pieces in each metal and costs $9,000. franckmuller.com
