Some people like clever watch mechanics, and others like their watches with a bit of sparkle. Few brands manage to combine the two skills quite as well as Franck Muller, which has brought out the ‘technical spectacle’ that is the Vanguard Revolution 3 Skeleton Rainbow.
It was 20 years ago that Franck Muller first introduced its tri-axial tourbillon, and the Revolution 3, which took a decade in development, was a first for the watch industry.
The three-axis tourbillon rotates through cycles of one hour, eight minutes, and 60 seconds across its three cages.
Power flows from the gear train through all three carriages to activate the balance wheel five times each second.
As you can imagine, with three carriages, there is a lot of resistance, and Franck Muller’s solution was to give massive power, with a ten-day power reserve.
The new Vanguard Revolution 3 Skeleton Rainbow is the latest home for this groundbreaking movement.
The case and crown are entirely set with baguette-cut stones, totaling a hefty 28.4 carats.
The watch was fully designed and manufactured in-house, the futuristic design of the VanguardTM Revolution 3 Skeleton Rainbow is a mechanical treasure showcasing the exceptional knowledge of the Franck Muller manufacture.
The new Vanguard Revolution 3 Skeleton Rainbow comes with Franck Muller’s 5-year tourbillon warranty and is delivered in a special box with an automated opening system.
The brand was founded in Geneva in the 1990s by master watchmaker Franck Muller and businessman Vartan Sirmakes.
