Revamp for Sinn 903 series

New features for German brand’s classic navigation chronograph

The German watchmaker Sinn has unveiled a range of new colors and features in its revamped 903 series navigation chronographs.

Three new models have been unveiled, showing off new colors, lume, and upgraded water-resistance.

Sinn was founded in 1961 by a former fighter pilot called Helmut Sinn, and the brand is best-known for rugged military-type pieces.

Regular readers will notice the similarities to another well-known pilot’s chronograph with a fancy slide rule and logarithmic scale for – this is not a coincidence.

When parts of Breitling were liquidated in the late Seventies, Sinn acquired rights to the design, if not the name, of the Navitimer, and the 903 became a core part of the Sinn range.

With prices for these new watchers starting at 3250 euros, the 903 as a more accessibly priced Navitimer has a strong appeal for many.

The first of the three new models is the 903 St II, which has a black electroplated dial and comes on a stainless-steel bracelet or a choice of leather and silicone straps.

Secondly, 903 St B E II also comes on a choice of wristbands, and has a deep blue dial with luminous ivory coating.

The first two watches form part of Sinn’s permanent collection, whereas the final watch, 903 St HB, with light-blue sunburst dial, is limited to 500 pieces.

Every model has a 41mm stainless-steel case, with 200 metres of water-resistance. At the heart of each watch is an automatic column-wheel chronograph movement with a power reserve of at least 60 hours.

Sinn watches are used by German police and special forces and are designed for durability in extreme conditions.
