Watches of Switzerland marks 100 years with Bulgari

Exclusive Serpenti among specials celebrating retailer’s century

Watches of Switzerland has announced a collaboration with Bulgari as part of ongoing birthday celebrations for the British retailer that was founded in London back in 1924.

The first watch in the Bulgari X Waatches of Switzerland tie-up is a limited-edition version of Bulgari’s classic Serpenti Seduttori, the seductively twisting jewellery watch that became a style icon when it was worn by Liz Taylor in the 1960s.

The new watch has a lapis lazuli dial and a 33mm steel case with a bezel set with 38 diamonds. It has cabochon-cut gemstone crown and the caseback is engraved: “Watches of Switzerland 1924 – 2024”. The bracelet is steel and the watch has a quartz movement.

A limited edition of 30 pieces will be available from Friday 24th May at Watches of Switzerland boutiques for £9300.

The second Bulgari collaboration is an Octo Roma Automatic with 41mm steel-DLC case. It has a smoked personalized sapphire case back and is available with two bracelets: one blue rubber and a black alligator with DLC coated pin buckle, swapped out with the easy-change system.

The movement is BVL 191 manufacture automatic movement with a power reserve of 42 hours. This stealthy dark blue piece is also limited to 30 pieces and will be available in Watches of Switzerland boutiques only at £8900.

Others WoS exclusives announced so far include a Tank Louis Cartier in a numbered limited edition of 100 pieces.  There is also a green-dialled Doxa Sub 200T and a gold-dialled Girard-Perregaux Laureato, with more Watches of Switzerland collaborations bound to be unveiled before the birthday year is out.
