Under the watchful eye of creative director Maximilian Davis, Ferragamo continues to push its watchmaking repertoire with the same striking visual codes that he’s lent to the maison’s ready-to-wear collections since his 2022 appointment.
While Ferragamo’s last release, the aptly named Asymétrique, leaned into the current zeitgeist’s penchant for the tiny jewelry watch, this latest offering flies in the face of dainty. A bold statement piece, the futuristic new model riffs from the brand’s existing F-80 line, now characterized by it’s almost-clear plexiglass case and choice of sustainable material.
With eco-consciousness front of mind, the watch’s 44mm case is crafted from bio-nylon containing 45% bio-based carbon, reducing fossil resource dependency. The polyurethane strap, featuring an engraved F-80 plate, incorporates 25% bio-based carbon and is finished with embossed micro-geometric patterns for a refined tactile feel.
Arriving in red, black and blue versions, the wearer gets a glimpse into the watch’s inner workings, enhanced by luminous hands and indexes. Ornamental steel screws on the case amplify its bold design language, reinforcing Ferragamo’s fusion of avant-garde style with responsible innovation.
Powered by a Swiss-made Ronda Z60 quartz chronograph movement, the F-80 Translucent is 50 meters water resistant.
