Hot property: police-seized Rolex watches go to auction

Murkiness in your past? Your timepiece may as well, too

Might they come with a pinch of bad juju? Perhaps, but between that and horizon-stretching waitlists, buying a potentially stolen watch looks more favorable these days.

As luck would have it, Wilsons Auctions is hosting its latest Unreserved Government Auction on 10–11 July, offering bargain hunters a unique chance to buy high-end goods for less. The auction will feature assets seized by UK police and government agencies, including Rolex watches, gold bars, designer bags, and even vehicles.

A 42mm Rolex Sky-Dweller in stainless steel is up for grabs

Wilsons, the UK and Ireland’s largest independent auction house, will offer Rolex Daytona and Sky-Dweller watches, along with brands like Gucci, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Balenciaga. Other standout lots include gold, platinum and silver bars, a Honda CBR motorcycle, and a Volkswagen Golf GTD.

This online-only auction opens for bidding at 11am BST on Thursday 10 July, closing from 11am BST on Friday 11 July. Interested buyers must register in advance to place bids during the 24-hour window. Once the auction ends, these items are gone for good – unless those Rolex Rippers see you coming, of course.

This diamond-encrusted Cartier Santos 100 is also for sale

Fancy more of where that came from? Wilsons hosts over 3,200 auctions annually, selling everything from vehicles and property to planes, yachts, supercars and more prestigious watches. With a yearly hammer total exceeding £840 million, it’s the go-to auction house for assets large and small.
