Jaeger-LeCoultre opens exclusive Alpine retreat in Vallée de Joux

Le Chalet will host invited clients for an immersive brand experience

Jaeger-LeCoultre has unveiled Le Chalet, a beautifully restored 19th-century Swiss alpine farm building in the Vallée de Joux.

Nestled at 1,360 metres on Mont Tendre, Le Chalet offers guests an authentic glimpse into the traditional life of the region where Jaeger-LeCoultre watchmakers have perfected their craft for nearly two centuries.

Reserved exclusively for invited guests of the Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre, Le Chalet provides a unique opportunity to experience the region’s history, culture and the birthplace of one of Switzerland’s most respected watchmakers, just minutes from Jaeger-LeCoultre’s headquarters in Le Sentier.

Once used as a summer retreat for farmers and their cattle, Le Chalet’s restoration preserves the Jura’s cultural heritage. Original wooden beams and the historic thuyé chimney, used to make cheese, have been carefully reimagined.

The barn now serves as a dining and entertaining space, while the old milk room has been transformed into a kitchen where chefs prepare dishes using local ingredients like Vacherin cheese.

The chalet’s exterior is clad in hand-crafted wooden shingles called tavaillons, a traditional Jura technique dating back to the 15th century, ensuring protection from harsh winters.

Surrounded by ancient meadows, limestone formations and serene pine forests, Le Chalet offers a retreat where visitors can immerse themselves in the Vallée de Joux’s unageing beauty.
