Tudor has launched a special limited-edition watch to honor cycling legend Fabian Cancellara’s time wearing the yellow jersey in France’s most prestigious races.
Only 300 individually numbered pieces will be made, with number 7 reserved for the man himself.
Though Cancellara hasn’t raced professionally since 2017, this year sees him return to the sport as a team owner, marking the challenges to come with a rather good-looking totem from Tudor.
Unlike traditional chronographs designed for motorsports, the Pelagos FXD Chrono’s recalibrated tachymeter scale is engineered for cycling speeds, wrapping in a spiral around the dial for easy reading of average speeds while riding.
The watch features a lightweight 43mm matte black carbon composite case with fixed strap bars and a fixed bezel with 60-minute graduation.
The matte black dial has luminescent ceramic hour markers, distinctive yellow accents, and Tudor’s signature “Snowflake” hands filled with Grade X1 Swiss Super-LumiNova® – one of the hallmarks of the the brand’s divers’ watches introduced in 1969.
Inside ticks the COSC-certified Manufacture Caliber MT5813 with a 70-hour power reserve, silicon balance spring, column wheel, and vertical clutch for reliable performance.
Waterproof up to 100 meters, the chronograph includes a central seconds hand, 45-minute counter at 3 o’clock, and small seconds at 9 o’clock.
