Vacheron Constantin has revealed a unique creation that showcases its highest level of technical artistry: the Les Cabinotiers Temporis Duo Grand Complication Openface. This one-of-a-kind grand complication combines a minute repeater, split-seconds chronograph, and a tourbillon with a spherical hairspring – a rare feat in wristwatch design.
At the heart of this haute horlogerie is the manual-winding Caliber 2757 S, composed of 696 components and developed entirely in-house. Despite its complexity, the movement measures just 10.4mm in height and operates at 18,000 vibrations per hour, offering a power reserve of approximately 58 hours.
Housed in a 45mm 5N pink gold case, distinguished by a highly complex mix of finishes, the timepiece features an open-faced sapphire dial that reveals the caliber’s refined architecture. The dial includes off-center hours and minutes, a 30-minute chronograph counter, and green aluminium split-seconds hands for precise timekeeping to 1/5th of a second. A second push-piece allows split-time measurement before seamlessly catching up.
The minute repeater uses a silent centripetal governor to regulate striking speed, producing clear chimes. The tourbillon at 6 o’clock is enhanced with a spherical hairspring, ensuring consistent isochronism, while a small seconds hand is mounted on its axis.
Vacheron Constantin uses advanced materials like titanium, silicon, and nickel-phosphorus to optimize energy flow and reduce friction, improving both performance and longevity.
Finished to ineffably high standards, every component is hand-decorated – some requiring twice as much time to finish as to assemble. Certified with the Hallmark of Geneva, this single-edition timepiece is a rare expression of mechanical genius and artistic finesse.
