Zenith continues to celebrate its 160th anniversary with the launch of the Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar Lapis Lazuli, an elegant and technically sophisticated timepiece that showcases the brand’s celestial inspirations.
Housed in a 38mm stainless steel case, the watch features a dial made from natural lapis lazuli – each completely unique due to the natural variation in the stone.
This continues a bold streak of stone dials first seen at Watches & Wonders with the G.F.J Calibre 135.
Its deep blue surface, detailed with shimmering pyrite inclusions, is made to evoke a starry night sky.
Powering the watch is Zenith’s in-house El Primero 3610 automatic caliber, offering a 1/10th of a second chronograph, complete calendar (day, date, month), and a moonphase display – a rare combination in modern watchmaking.
The high-frequency movement (36,000 VpH) also includes a stop-seconds mechanism and delivers a 60-hour power reserve.
Calendar functions are smartly integrated: day and month windows sit at 11 and 2 o’clock, the date appears at 4:30, and the moonphase is set within the 60-minute counter at 6 o’clock.
A silver-toned chapter ring and counters provide excellent legibility and contrast against the blue dial.
With a compact 14mm thickness and 46mm lug-to-lug span, the case design takes inspiration from the 1969 A386 model, complete with pump-style pushers and a raised box sapphire crystal.
The watch comes with a blue calfskin strap and matching steel bracelet.
