Did Gerald Charles just tease an unreleased watch?

A new lime green model caught our eye on the wrist of tennis champion Andrea Vavassori

Gerald Charles took to Instagram yesterday to wish congratulations to Italian tennis player Andrea Vavassori, who won at the Indian Wells Mixed Doubles with his partner Sara Errani.

But it wasn’t the racket in his hand, nor the star-shaped trophy he held that caught our eye. An unignorable flash of green on his wrist had us zooming in for a closer look at what appears to be a new Gerald Charles watch.

‘Brat Summer’ was clearly never over for Federico Ziviani, who’s taking the lime hue that dominated last year into 2025 via the dial and strap of this unreleased model.

Here, the dial looks to fade from a bright center to a matte grey outer, seamlessly blending with a coordinating matte grey case.

Retaining Gerald Genta’s signature smile-shaped silhouette, we would also place it as belonging to the Maestro family – a perpetual homage to the legacy of the iconic founder and inspired by the baroque architecture of Rome.

Given that friend-of-the-brand Vavassori wore the timepiece throughout the match, we can assume that the model will be extremely lightweight and shock resistant – perhaps sand-blasted titanium like the Maestro 8.0 GC Sport Squelette.

The strap here is also interesting – forgoing the usual textured rubber design that features throughout the rest of the Maestro collection, this new timepiece is Velcro-fastening and appears to be more fabric-like.

It doesn’t seem like we’ll have very long to wait for more details. WatchPro commented on Gerald Charles’ Instagram post, to which the brand replied: “Keep an eye on the Maison in the next weeks.”
