Inspired by the well-received 35th-anniversary chronograph edition of the Newport, Herbelin introduces the Newport Chronograph Heritage as a new family in its permanent offering.
This new, one-of-300 model pays homage to the original 1988 version while integrating contemporary refinements and high-performance mechanics.
Remaining true to the signature aesthetics of the OG Newport, the Newport Chronograph Heritage features a 42mm cylindrical case crafted in rose gold PVD.
The polished black ceramic bezel is engraved with a tachymeter scale for a sporty yet refined character, while six screws, reminiscent of sailboat winches, secure the bezel and reinforce the French brand’s nautical heritage (as does the marine wheel motif etched into the screw-down crown).
The deep black brushed dial, protected by an anti-reflective sapphire glass, enhances readability alongside luminescent beveled hour markers and faceted sword-shaped hands.
The precision of the chronograph is underscored by a white lacquered seconds hand, a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, and a small seconds counter at 9 o’clock, completed by a finely detailed date window at 6 o’clock.
At the heart of the Newport Chronograph Heritage is the Swiss automatic Sellita SW510 BHa movement. This meticulously engineered caliber offers a 62-hour power reserve, and is detailed with a Herbelin-engraved oscillating weight which is visible through a transparent caseback.
Combining form and function via a 100-metre water resistance and an embossed leather strap, this is a Herbelin watch that seamlessly transitions between formal and casual settings.
