Breva Genève has been largely unheard of since its last watchmaking outing back in 2015. But now, and conveniently just in time for Watches and Wonders in April, the brand is back under new management.
First founded in 2010, Julien Haenny now sits at the helm, bringing over 20 years experience in watchmaking at the likes of Jaeger-LeCoultre, HYT and Anonimo with him.
To ring in the new era, Breva Genève has created a new model, the Segreto di Lario, spotlighting the Italian flair and Swiss craftsmanship that the brand first found success with.
At the core of the Segreto di Lario is a highly complex hand-wound mechanical movement based on the Chronode C101 caliber which delivers a 7-day power reserve. This unique complication design allows for altitude and weather forecasting – ideal for planning a day on the stunning Lake Como that the watch is inspired by.
Encased in grade 5 titanium, the 41mm model offers remarkable durability while maintaining a lightweight profile.
A standout feature is the barometric pressure sensor, a signature innovation of Breva Genève that allows the wearer to monitor atmospheric pressure in real-time, providing functionality beyond standard timekeeping.
The watch also incorporates a power reserve indicator, visible through a sub-dial, enabling the wearer to monitor remaining energy. This is read by a distinctive crossed hands arrangement; one hand tracks the six-day reserve, while the second seamlessly takes over for the final 24 hours.
Its dial reflects the rippling waters of Lake Como with finely engraved wave patterns, enhanced by a sapphire crystal dome that offers a clear view of the intricate movement beneath.
With only 25 pieces produced, the Segreto di Lario is positioned as a rare collector’s item, and is exclusively available through Breva Genève’s official retailers and select luxury watch boutiques.
