Perrelet X seconde/seconde/ Turbine watch

Perrelet collaborates with seconde/seconde/ for limited-edition Turbine watch

This one comes with a warning

Public safety announcement: Perrelet has unveiled a bold new addition to its iconic Turbine collection with the Turbine Perrelet x seconde/seconde/.

Limited to just 25 pieces, this watch showcases a playful blend of self-irony and avant-garde design, thanks to a collaboration with French artist seconde/seconde/, renowned for his humorous reinterpretations (or vandalism, as he likes to say) of classic timepieces.

Its monochrome black design is enhanced with yellow details inspired by industrial safety signs, including the central seconds hand shaped like a “Keep Hands Clear” triangle, spinning with the turbine’s motion.

The watch face features 12 black anodized aluminium turbine blades, patented by Perrelet in 2009, which rotate with each wrist movement, creating a mesmerising effect – be warned, trips and falls likely when wearing.

Furthering the titter of humour, the dial is detailed with the inscription “1777 days since last injury”, a witty nod to safety signs found in factories, referencing Perrelet’s founding year.

A tribute to the brand’s heritage, the case back features the engraving “I sincerely love art. But it will always come second. Safety first”, signed by seconde/seconde/. To us, it’ll always come third (watches take top spot, of course).

At the heart of this watch lies the in-house self-winding calibre P-331-MH, known for its precision and durability, boasting Chronofiable and COSC certification.

It offers a 42-hour power reserve, 25 jewels, and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), ensuring reliability and accuracy. The movement is decorated with a colimaçonné main plate, circular-grained bridges, and an open-worked oscillating weight with the Perrelet logo.

The 41mm case is crafted from black DLC-grade 2 titanium, offering exceptional scratch resistance and a lightweight feel.

Presented in what looks like a tool box to deal with hazardous materials, this is a talking point piece that will appeal to horological collectors and health and safety sticklers alike.

The Perrelet X seconde/seconde/ Turbine watch is available at official Perrelet retailers and the brand’s e-commerce site now.
