Perrelet teases collaboration with seconde/seconde/

A French-Swiss fusion is set to be released on 12 Feb

Taking to social media yesterday, Swiss maison Perrelet and French brand seconde/seconde/ hinted at an upcoming collaboration.

Posting to both brand’s Instagram accounts, the campaign shows a bright yellow hard hat and building off-cuts surrounded by graphic hazmat and ‘safety first’ signs.

In seconde/seconde/’s signature tongue-in-cheek fashion, the image was accompanied by a caption which reads ‘Keep Hands Clear’ – stating the obvious, but that’s quite hard where a watch is concerned.

Meanwhile over on Perrelet’s Instagram, the brand asked followers: “Can you guess which Perrelet model is @secondeseconde going to rework next?”

However a closer inspection of its use of hashtags – #turbine #limitededition – suggests that a rework of Perrelet’s signature Turbine is in the works, rather than an entirely new model.

The hard-hitting imagery nods to seconde/seconde/’s playful and humorous approach to design, with founder Romaric André known for his penchant for watch vandalism – customising vintage timepieces for purposeful anarchic clashes.

Perrelet, on the other hand, has a lot more of a storied heritage and comparatively more traditional approach to watchmaking, founded in 1777 by Abraham-Louis Perrelet, inventor of the automatic winding watch.

This is not the first joint venture either brand has embarked on, with Perrelet previously working with the likes of Label Noir for the 2024 Turbine EVO Label Noir Limited Edition, while seconde/seconde/ is hot off the heels of its January collaboration with Christopher Ward on the The Twelve Snake.

Fans of the brands won’t have to wait long to find out what more on what the collaborative timepiece has in store, with the release date set for 12 February.
