Tiffany & Co. has announced four new additions to its horological collections as part of its LVMH Watch Week celebrations.
Marking a milestone in the maison’s watchmaking legacy which goes back over 150 years, Tiffany & Co.’s inclusion in the lauded industry event reaffirms its authority in the haute jewelry timepiece space.
Carat 128 Aquamarine Watch
Inspired by the legendary Tiffany Diamond – a 128.54-carat cushion-shaped fancy yellow diamond – the Carat 128 collection is made up of two styles; Carat 128 Facet, distinguished by diamond-set cases and dials coupled with leather straps, and Carat 128 High Jewelry, a series of very limited-edition pieces, featuring a faceted dial crystal and fully gem-set bracelet.
Distinguished by their cushion-shaped case which echoes the form of the diamond, the launch is spotlighted by the Carat 128 aquamarine high jewelry watch – a one-of-a-kind 18K white gold timepiece that boasts 897 diamonds totaling over 29 carats.
Its bracelet is inspired by the iconic Tiffany Setting engagement ring and its distinctive six-prong design which maximizes the amount of light that can pass through the diamond to scintillating effect.
The Swiss-made piece has a high-precision quartz movement and measures an elegant 27mm.
Eternity by Tiffany Wisteria Watch
Taking inspiration from iconic lamps of the early 20th century, Tiffany & Co. introduces the Eternity by Tiffany Wisteria watch, showcasing the maison’s prowess at combining fine jewelry with watchmaking.
Set with the Eternity collection’s signature diamond hour markers, the bold enamel dial of the watch mimics the floral motif of the Wisteria lamp – a super-rare original from Tiffany Studio’s early 1900s archives which is now regarded as an icon of Art Nouveau design.
The intricate timepiece showcases vivid gemstones held within plique-à-jour enameling – an ancient technique that allows light to beautifully permeate the piece, making each completely unique.
The watch features 709 total diamonds of over 5 total carats, artisanally snow set over 70 hours, with the entire piece taking 150 hours of labor in total.
Crafted with a 18K white gold case, hands, crown and buckle, it houses a Swiss self-winding LTM 2100 movement and fastens with a blue alligator leather strap.
Tiffany Bird on a Rock Watch
For LVMH Watch Week, Tiffany & Co. has released two new interpretations of the Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Bird on a Rock Watch.
One of the house’s most celebrated designers, Jean Schlumberger created an array of dazzling contemporary timepieces and is recognized as a great tastemaker of the mid century – the Bird on the Rock being of this most emblematic.
Here, a diamond-embellished bird perches on the watch’s dial, invisibly attached to the outer ring of the dial, which spins freely with the wearer’s movement courtesy of a specially developed ball-bearing mechanism.
Sculpted by hand, the bird is detailed with a pink sapphire for the eye in a process that spans over 24 hours for both the Bird on a Rock Full Pavé Diamond Watch and the Bird on a Rock Tsavorite Watch.
Both models feature an 18K white gold case, with the reverse detailed with a sunburst pattern that takes inspiration from the Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co. Floral Arrows brooch.
Rock Full Pavé Diamond Watch measures 36mm and is powered by a high-precision Swiss quartz movement, set with a total of 1,318 round brilliant diamonds of over 8 total carats, alongside 30 baguette aquamarines of over 3 total carats.
Elsewhere, the Bird on a Rock Tsavorite Watch features 36 baguette tsavorites weighing a total of 5.4 carats, contrasting against the diamond-set central disc. This bright hue is complemented by dark green alligator strap, while its winding crown is topped with a prong-set solitaire diamond in a nod to the iconic Tiffany Setting engagement ring.
Measuring 39mm, a fine Swiss self-winding movement, Caliber LTM 2100, powers the Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Bird on a Rock Tsavorite watch, providing a power reserve of 38 hours.
There will be limited production of the Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany timepieces each year.
Tiffany Twenty Four Stone Watch
Part of the maison’s Sixteen Stone collection, the Twenty Four Stone Watch features a rotating ring decorated with an 18K yellow gold cross-stitch motif, set within a 18K white gold case.
A limited edition also originally created by Schlumberger in 1959, it’s defined by 707 diamonds totaling over 6.5 total carats and is inspired by his textile manufacturing heritage.
The timepiece features a free-spinning outer ring that characterizes Schlumberger’s designs, the making of which requires a complex process of 25 hours work, while the dial center is adorned with 220 diamonds of 1.32 carats.
The 39mm case is also set with a glistening array of 413 diamonds, plus a constellation of precious stones to the case back, and a signature solitaire diamond to the crown.
The Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Twenty Four Stone watch is powered by a fine Swiss-made self-winding mechanical movement, Caliber LTM 2100, which provides a power reserve of 38 hours.
Each of the new timepieces are £POA.
