The 82nd Golden Globes Awards was held last night in the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, California, where the stars of television and cinema were celebrated in a star-studded ceremony hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser.
The event marks the beginning of the 2025 awards season, and also sets the benchmark for watch trends translating from the red carpet to the pavement.
Amongst the winners was a collection of timepieces worthy of a standing ovation themselves. From the classic and understated to the bold and bejeweled, here WatchPro rounds up some of the best.
Golden Globe Celebrities
Nicole Kidman
Nominated for the Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture in “Babygirl”, Nicole Kidman wore a rare Art Nouveau timepiece from 1920. A brand ambassador since 2005, the watch boasts arabesque decoration of the period, while the fantasy platinum case is set with 24 brilliant-cut diamonds and is worn on a black fabric bracelet.
Daniel Craig
Daniel Craig was nominated for the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture for his role in “Queer”. He wore a Speedmaster Moonwatch in the brand’s signature 18K Sedna Gold on a black leather strap.
Eddie Redmayne
Nominated for the Best Performance by an Actor in a Television for his role in “The Day of the Jackal”, Eddie Redmayne wore a 41 mm Seamaster Aqua Terra in stainless steel with a lacquered black dial.
Colman Domingo
Colman Domingo opted for an Omega Constellation in stainless steel and 18K Moonshine Gold with a PVD green dial. A new friend of the brand, he was nominated for the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture for his role in “Sing Sing”.
Jack Lowden
“Slow Horses” saw Jack Lowden nominated for the Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role in Television, and the actor wore a 40mm De Ville Trésor in 18K Sedna Gold on a grey leather strap to celebrate.
Ariana DeBose
One of The Golden Globes presenters and friend of the brand Ariana DeBose wore a 26mm Mini Trésor in 18K Moonshine Gold with diamonds set on each side.
Jake Gyllenhaal
Nominated for his work in the Apple TV+ series “Presumed Innocent”, Jake Gyllenhaal wore a Cartier Privé Tortue watch with a 18K yellow gold case, faceted crown set with a sapphire cabochon, and alligator leather strap. The watch, which released during Cartier’s 2024 Watch and Wonders, is now in its eighth edition.
Sebastian Stan
Best Supporting Actor in a Musical or Comedy went to Sebastian Stan for his role in “A Different Man”. He wore a Cartier Collection watch from 1968 in rhodium-plated 18K yellow gold and leather with sapphire cabochon.
Nicholas Chavez
Surprisingly, one of Netflix’s biggest hits of 2024 “The Monsters” failed to secure any award at the Golden Globes, yet Nicholas Chavez was certainly a contender in the style stakes courtesy of his Cartier Santos-Dumont watch in 18K yellow gold and leather.
Mohammed Al Turki
Film producer Mohammed Al Turki wore a Cartier Santos-Dumont Skeleton watch with a 18K yellow gold case with blue lacquer, a sapphire case back and crystal, and a blue alligator-skin strap. The watch features a micro-rotor and was released during Cartier’s 2023 Watches and Wonders exhibition.
Robbie Williams
Nominated for Best Original Song in his biopic “Better Man”, Robbie Williams wore an L.U.C XPS Twist timepiece, accompanied by a pair of cufflinks in 18K white gold, and a ring featuring a 4.28-carat princess-cut diamond set in 18K white gold from the label’s Haute Joaillerie Collection.
Jeff Goldblum
Presenter and actor Jeff Goldblum wore a Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Pave Moon Phase 37mm in white gold for the occasion. Its dial and case is set with round-cut diamonds and a precision moon phase. This impressive complication only needs adjusting every 122 years.
Jeremy Strong
“Succession” actor Jeremy Strong stood out from the crowd wearing a mint-green velvet suit and coordinating it with matching glasses, bucket hat and Richard Mille RM 72-01 watch. Worn on a forest green rubber strap, the statement timepiece was the brand’s first ever in-house flyback chronograph.
Andrew Garfield
Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Reverso Tribute Chronograph is a perennial favorite on the red carpet, and actor Andrew Garfield styled it perfectly alongside his 70s-inspired tuxedo. We like to muse that he flipped the face to show the chronograph side at the after party, but we can neither confirm nor deny.
