Earlier this year WatchPro unveiled its Watches of the Year 2012 – the 10 winning timepieces and 90 highly commended watches that we felt boasted commercial appeal, innovation and had wowed consumers and retailers alike over the past 12 months.
Now we are showcasing a watch a day that made the cut in 2012. Flying in today is this feathered little number by Dior – a sumptuous watch for any discerning woman.
Highly Commended Ladies’ Watch of the Year – Dior VIII Grand Bal Plume
Limited to just 88 pieces, this watch has been dubbed the timepiece for “princesses of a fancy dress ball”.
It continues Dior’s iconic Grand Bal collection with its ceramic case and bracelet, Vietnamese black mother-of-pearl dial and detailed openwork oscillating weight.
But for 2012 the brand has introduced a new lightweight luxury material to the design: feathers. This year the oscillating weight is decorated with a petticoat of white plumage and glitters with .89ct of white VVS diamonds as it swings around the dial.
