You might suspect the most standout feature of a Swarovski hero piece to be its crystals, but the brand’s heroine timepiece this year, the Crystalline Oval, stood out for its complex case and lug geometry.
Featuring in the brand’s extensive marketing and advertising campaigns on the wrist of brand ambassador Miranda Kerr, the Crystalline Oval comprises of a circular watch head with an inner sunray dial surrounded by a circular path of approximately 1,700 scattered crystals in varying colours depending which of the five models you choose.
That watch head is held in place on either side by an oval frame of matching metal that also serves as wire loops for the slim calfskin leather strap. The Crystalline Oval also demonstrates how seriously Swarovski are taking their watch offer these days and is entirely Swiss-made.
With such strong product and a marketing campaign to match, it will not be long before customers begin to associate the Austrian crystal giant as closely with women’s fashion watches as they do with sparkling jewellery.
