William Wood straps original fire hose to its Valiant Collection

William Wood’s Valiant Collection epitomises the work the brand does to pay homage to firefighters around the world.

In doing just that, the Valiant Collection uses straps made from cast off Angus Duraline British fire hose rubber.

The rubber hose has provided over 10 years of service to the UK Fire & Rescue community and the brand says you can still smell the rich smokiness in some cases.

The watches are available with two automatic movements, the first with the Sellita SW200 and the other the Seiko NH35.

Not only are the straps used to nod to firefighting, in a bid to remain eco-friendly too, the brand has upcycled and melted down an original 1920’s British brass firefighter’s helmet inside the watches.

This time set into the crown, the craftsmanship is all done in the heart of London’s prestigious jewellery district of Hatton Garden by a family run business with over 40 years’ experience dealing with precious metals.

Again, paying tribute to firefighters’ work, the 12 indices represents the two collar markings on the lapel of a Fire & Rescue Service Crew Manager, the chequered markings around the outside of the dial mirror the markings from a British fire engine, the seconds hand takes inspiration from the chime of a vintage fire bell with all hands and indices Super-Luminova allow you to tell the time in the dark.

The Valiant Collection watch will come packed into a luxury William Wood travel roll which allows the carrying of three watches.
