WatchTime New York, will return to Gotham Hall in midtown Manhattan for its fifth consecutive year from October 25 to 26.
A record 37 watch brands are participating, with support from headline sponsor Watches of Switzerland.
Organizers call it America’s largest luxury watch event. “The public can try on and experience more new, rare wristwatches than anywhere else in the United States,” it claims.
Greubel Forsey will officially present the new Double Tourbillon 30° Technique Ceramic for the first time ever at WatchTime New York 2019. The independent Swiss watchmaker has reconstructed one of its most important timepieces ever, The Double Tourbillon 30º, to create an unobstructed view of its parts and twin tourbillons.
The timepiece is limited to only 11 individually numbered pieces and will be exclusive to U.S.-based collectors, and the release also marks the brand’s first-ever ceramic model. Attendees will also enjoy the rare opportunity to interact with brand co-founder Stephen Forsey at the show.
Armin Strom has unveiled a world-first with its Armin Strom Minute Repeater Resonance, limited to just 10 pieces in celebration of the brand’s 10th anniversary in 2019.
Duality defines the world’s only resonance chiming wristwatch, which combines two vertically-stacked independent movements; two forms of resonance (oscillators and sound propagation); two independent mainsprings in one barrel; and two top development teams, Armin Strom (resonance) and Le Cercle des Horlogers (repeaters).
Romain Gauthier will showcase a one-of-a-kind version of its Logical One timepiece for the first time in the United States. The watch is crafted in white gold and set with 92 baguette-cut diamonds totalling 7.27 carats.
Mr Gauthier and his team developed The Logical One’s energy-efficient caliber in-house, which delivers two full days of constant force and extreme chronometric precision. He will be present at WatchTime New York to greet attendees and to personally present the unique piece.
American watchmaker RGM Watch Co. will be onsite to showcase the RGM PS-801 Skeleton. The polished stainless-steel Pennsylvania series case and all the movement components within are hand-finished using traditional techniques and machinery, taking design inspiration from early 20th century skeletonized timepieces.
Twenty years since first establishing his company in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Roland Murphy will return for his fifth year at WatchTime New York. Once again, Mr Murphy will bring some of the antique machining equipment RGM uses to create American-made watches, demonstrating techniques live on the show floor.
Japanese watchmaker Grand Seiko will showcase a series of four US-exclusive models designed to represent the four seasons. The Spring model features a textured pale pink dial; The Winter model channels the season with titanium gray; the lush green of The Summer model is punctuated by golden hands and indices, and the midnight blue Fall dial offers contrasting silvery hands and indices.
These four US Exclusive timepieces are only available at Seiko boutiques. Grand Seiko will return with its watchmaker to demonstrate the brand’s haute horlogerie techniques on the floor of WatchTime New York throughout the show.
German-based watch brand MeisterSinger will showcase the brand-new US Limited Edition for 2019: the yellow-and-black No.3. It draws chromatic inspiration from the Metris Black Line edition’s striking yellow dial and black DLC coated case while dispensing with the date window and borrowing clean aesthetic details from the No. 3 series.
Like previous US exclusives from MeisterSinger, the watch’s exhibition case back features an applied sketch of all 50 states. The No. 3 release is limited to just 50 total pieces.
