The return of Couture alongside JCK in Las Vegas this summer has come at an important time for BeauGeste Luxury, which will use the show to present the latest watches from Kerbedanz, Meerson, Reservoir, U-Boat, Vulcain, Artya, Capolavoro, Eberhard & Co., Lladro and Tonino Lamborghini.
Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to meet CEOs and owners for several of the watch brands, according to BeauGeste Luxury CEO Thierry Chaunu.
Vulcain will have its own dedicated booth at Couture, presenting a watchmaker that was founded in 1858 and made famous in the United States when President Harry Truman wore an engraved timepiece from the brand.
Vulcain has been responsible for a number of horological breakthroughs including, in the mid-20th century, the creation of a mechanical alarm movement named the Cricket caliber.
This innovation was appreciated by several American presidents including Dwight Eisenhower, Harry Trumann, Richard Nixon and Lyndon Johnson, who all wore a Vulcain “President’s Watch” on their wrists.
The brand was relaunched in 2002 and a new Cricket Caliber with a date display was launched in 2005.
Complicated wristwatches have continued to be developed by Vulcain, including an alarm watch with a tourbillon and a revival edition of the Cricket automatic President’s watch in 2010.
President’s watches have continued to be added to what is now a rounded collection of styles.
