UPDATE: Five charged with Breitling smash and grab


Five men have been charged with conspiracy to rob following an attempted smash and grab at the Breitling store at Westfield Shopping Centre in Stratford, which took place in the early hours of yesterday.

The men have been named as Steven Raine, 28yrs; Wayne Worrell, 23yrs; Kaval Kalychurn, 23yrs; Ronan O’Brien, 25yrs, and Ian Rawlings, 20yrs.

Then men were arrested by detectives from the Metropolitan Police Flying Squad following an attempted smash and grab at Westfield Shopping Centre in Stratford.


Shortly after midnight, four men were seen approaching the store on the ground floor of the shopping centre armed with axes and hammers. The men smashed the window of the store but were arrested at the scene before they could steal any goods.

A fifth man, waiting in a vehicle outside the shopping centre, made off from the scene but was subsequently traced to an address in Islington and arrested.

The men will appear in custody at Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court today.
