Blue, black and white remain America’s favorite colors for watches, but green and grey were the two strongest hues on the rise at Baselworld (see trends No.5 & 9), and are definitely worth watching for this year’s holiday season.

There was an upsurge in muted gray watch cases, dials, straps and bracelets at this year’s exhibition, but gun metal is more than just a color, it is a finish that gives watches an almost oily appearance.

Fossil, which prides itself on taking a lead with fashion trends, featured the effect on a number of models including the Fossil Q Grant connected hybrid pictured here.

Citizen (pictured top) takes a more classical and timeless approach to its collections, and this 2018 Promaster will stand the test of time with its black tiered dial with white markers.

The gun metal grey case is a little darker than this picture shows, and fits precisely into the gun metal trend.

Of course, gun metal is not the only treatment of grey watches as we describe in TREND No.5 SHADES OF GREY
