In the last seven games Tennessee Titans running back Derick Henry has notched six 100-yard games and an NFL-high 1,078 yards and a league-high 11 touchdowns. He led the NFL in 2019 with 1,540 yards rushing for the season.
That might sound like a one man winning machine, but Mr Henry knows that football is a team game, and he is thanking the entire offensive lineman for helping him rack up yards by buying each of them a Rolex watch.
“Pretty cool, huh, He took care of us,” Titans center Ben Jones tells the club’s official Titansonline website.
“It’s special. He told us at the beginning of the year if we got a certain amount of yards and the rushing title, he would hook us up and it happened. He gave it to us and thanked us for how hard we work, but it wouldn’t have been done without him. That guy plays extremely hard and he deserves what he got, and the rushing total. We are happy for him.”
A total of seven Rolex watches were bought, but it is not known from which dealer. Nashville does not have an authorized dealer, so Mr Henry may have traveled to Kimball’s Jewelers in Knoxville or perhaps Bob Richards Jewelers in Memphis.
