Timex aims to bring marathon runners together


Timex Group UK is celebrating its 17th year in the role as official timekeeper of the 2015 Virgin Money London Marathon with an online running companion.

The Timex Inspirationals Campaign at is full of training tips, running community articles, competitions and training playlists to get every runner to the finish line on the 26th April 2015.

This online hub is also home to the Timex Inspirationals Team, headed up by James Cracknell and Bill O’Connor, one of a select group of Ever Present Club members, namely runners who have participated in every London Marathon since 1981.

Cracknell and O’Connor are joined by three runners who won their place in the 2015 Virgin Money London Marathon through a competition in The Times; Lindsay Duncan, David Cousins and Tracey Cole.

The hub hosts a hashtag gallery, an interactive mosaic made up of all Instagram and Twitter posts shared using the campaign hashtags #TimexVMLM and #TimexInspires. Timex will host competitions in the build up to the marathon as well as special events in March.

The aim of the endeavour is to bring London Marathon runners togethers both online and in the real world.

The VMLM is a truly inspirational day, each runner has a heart-warming tale to tell, for many it’s a once in a lifetime achievement they’d never imagined possible. We’re very excited to build our team of three inspirational runners, giving them the unique opportunity to fulfil their ambitions and raise awareness of causes close to their hearts.”
