Hublot and The Watch Gallery have embarked on a third collaboration together that has culminated in the launch of two limited edition timepieces.
The two watches – the £7,500 Classic Fusion and £9,500 Classic Fusion Chronograph 45mm – were unveiled at a special launch event held at London’s Ace Hotel.
Each model features satin-finished titanium cases and highly distinguishable H-shaped screws, while The Watch Gallery’s signature blue case-back adds a subtle yet unique design feature.
Hublot has fused titanium with a polished satin-finished black ceramic bezel. The blue trend continues in the blue sun-ray satin-finished dial, and also in the two blue straps supplied with the watch – one rubber, and the other rubber-lined alligator.
The watch itself is powered by the HUB1143 automatic calibre and provides 42 hours of power reserve.
Benoît Lecigne, Hublot’s UK & eastern europe brand director, stated: “This third collaboration between Hublot and The Watch Gallery demonstrates how a partnership can be successful in the long run if both companies share the same values and common objectives. We have taken up the challenge of creating two limited edition timepieces that embody the Hublot spirit – the perfect mix between innovation and tradition – whilst expressing The Watch Gallery DNA – modernity and dynamism.”
Adrian Maronneau, director of buying and merchandising at The Watch Gallery, added: “Our limited edition bridges the gap between sports style and an elegant evening watch. The deep blue of the dial will perfectly complement any formal occasion while the fusion of the ceramic bezel and titanium case underline the toughness of the watch with a completely unique and fresh look.”
The Classic Fusion is Hublot’s contemporary elegant collection and is inspired by avant-garde designs first launched by the company in the early 1980s, shortly after it was founded. Hublot pioneered the use of gold with rubber, daringly fusing precious and industrial materials in a package that disrupted the watchmaking conventions of its time.
Despite only slight differences in the two limited edition models, they change the look of the watch considerably. The Chronograph has polished rhodium-plated hands and a blue chronograph second hand giving it a sports-led look whereas the Classic Fusion is more a classic approach to serve as the perfect everyday watch.
The watches are available throughout The Watch Gallery’s Hublot outlets at Selfridges London and Manchester, as well as at Westfield. They are also available online: http://www.thewatchgallery.com/hublot-watches
