Thieves scale Beaverbrooks roof to steal watches


The Beaverbrooks branch in Edinburgh was robbed by watch thieves who broke into the shop through the roof.

The robbery at the shop in the city’s Fort Kinnaird shopping centre was robbed this morning at about 4.30am. Police are still evaluating what stock was taken but have estimated that the haul comprised thousands of pounds-worth of watches.

To gain access to the shop the thieves scaled the roof and then lowered themselves into the shop through the roof.

Detective Sergeant John Graham said: “It would seem there’s been a significant quantity of items taken worth a lot of money. Work is still ongoing to find out exactly what has been taken."
